At Sackville Construction Ltd, we recently completed the bricklaying work for a premium residential development in Plumpton Green, Sussex. We were the dedicated brickwork contractor appointed by Elivia Homes to deliver all masonry work for their Rectory Meadows site.

Rectory Meadows is a new-build development made up of just 20 homes, ranging from two to five-bedroom properties. Every house was designed to reflect the traditional character of the Sussex countryside, with brickwork playing a key role in creating that visual identity.

Delivering Quality Brickwork

Our bricklaying scope covered all 20 plots on site. These included a mix of terraced houses, semi-detached homes, and larger detached family properties.

Each home was designed with a traditional exterior, using carefully selected bricks that tied in with the architectural heritage of the local area. We worked closely with the site team to make sure that brick bonding, coursing and pointing all met the visual and structural requirements of the building plans.

The quality of the brickwork had to match the high standards expected across the entire development. As with every job we take on, we prioritised clean lines, tight tolerances, and a consistent finish across every elevation.

Working To Programme & Site Phasing

With multiple plots at different build stages, we phased our works in line with the main contractor’s schedule. Our team of bricklayers remained on site throughout the programme, delivering each stage on time and in sequence.

By staying coordinated with site management, we helped maintain overall progress on the build. Clear communication and responsive planning helped us deliver all bricklaying work without delays.

Traditional Details For A Heritage Look

The properties at Rectory Meadows were designed to reflect the traditional character of Plumpton Green. Brick detailing was central to achieving this look.

Our team installed brick arches, feature panels and decorative banding as part of the masonry package. These traditional features were important in connecting the new-build homes to the village’s long-standing architectural style.
We followed all design drawings closely and made sure our work blended seamlessly from plot to plot. The end result was a collection of homes with a timeless exterior appearance.
